About this item...
Maud Bows to the Virginia Creeper, may be Winston Link's best known daylight photograph. The Norfolk and Western ran a single mixed freight and passenger train, affectionately known as the Virginia Creeper, from Abingdon, Virginia south into the rugged mountains of North Carolina. Here Old Maud bows to the train as it arrives at Green Cove, Virginia, just a few miles from the highest point east of the Rocky Mountains ever reached by a scheduled passenger train.
